As part of their service, we create these ads to send around to the surrounding neighborhoods of their newly listed properties. We keep the back the same and adjust the front to highlight the best parts of the featured property.

My great friend is having a baby boy in just a couple of weeks!

For her baby shower I added this small stationary set that had her baby to be's name on it, with coordinating envelopes, wrapped in twine. I received a gift similar to this when I had my girl and I LOVED them. They are wonderful to use for thank you cards, love notes to family members or even for baby announcements!

Here are the samples of the last two mailers we sent out just before election day. We kept the same photo on the front of both mailer for identity and varied the back.

It was a great experience working on this campaign for Scott and even more exciting that he won! Good Luck Scott! I have no doubt that you will do great things for our district!

I have a great friend from high school named Nicole Baldwin, runs a photography studio in Utah. Last year, she asked me to create a business card for her. The above is what I like to call "the sampler". When I begin a project, clients will usually give me some general ideas of what they are envisioning. For example, Nicole knew she wanted to incorporate stars and a blue into her card. Being a photographer we also knew she had some artistic freedoms as far as the traditional biz type cards go (in other words we wanted to go more edgy).

So with the initial input I'll create the "sampler", in which I will intentionally try to vary the styles and layouts. Once a client can see a variety of work to choose from, it will significantly help us narrow down the specifics of what we like and don't like. From here a client will pick and choose from fonts, colors, pros and cons; all of which I will incorporate to help them create their perfect business card!

As you may recall from this previous post, I have been working on a local political campaign for Scott Hammond, who is running for Assemblyman of District 13 here in Las Vegas. He won the primaries and has maintained a strong campaign throughout this new election.There is quite a variety of work used on this campaign (t-shirts, car magnets, pencils...to name a few). But I was so very excited about how these huge A-frame signs turned out that I had to post it here first! The incredible shot is courtesy of one of my favorite local photographers, Amy Rhodes.

Scott told me that the day the signs went up, he actually got a call from the man that put them up, asking Scott who his designer and photographer are because, he been doing this a long time, and this is the best sign he has ever seen! (Woot woot!)

I have been helping a local law firm, Piet & Wright, throughout the last few months with their marketing needs. Below are the first of quite a few projects we have been developing. It has been an educational and rewarding experience working with that firm to create something that is informative, professional, appealing and effective.

The above flyer is done in B&W, which created a substantial savings in print costs. I often think B&W gets underestimated. The firm produced this one on yellow paper in their office to distribute locally, by hand.

Who knew working with lawyers could be so enjoyable? ;)

I recently had an opportunity to create this Newspaper Pull Out Ad for a Scouting Expo being held back east. I was really excited for this project. I wanted to create something historic-esque while keeping it updated. We also created a full page flyer to distribute by hand, shown below.

My sister is off to Girl's Camp this summer with the Young Women in her ward (congregation). The theme of their group is super-heros and these particular ladies are going to be the "Heroic Hotties!" This is a 4x3 foot vinyl banner.

My sister enlisted my help last Christmas to create personalized stationary for each member of her sister-in-law's family. The oldest son was leaving for a mission so we thought stationary would be the perfect family gift for them. We personalized one to match the age and style of the recipient!

Here is an invitation I did for my sister. Its an annual meeting for young women (ages 12-18) in her ward to focus on their worth and morals, called Young Women in Excellence.

This is a project that I thought was rather genius. Instead of writing a million separate thank you cards we created this beautiful keepsake to send to the guests thanking them for whatever way they participated in the wedding! And now every guest will have a few lovely photos of the day for themselves. We also left a small space at the bottom for the bride and groom to sign by hand. This was a gift the grandmother of the bride hired me to do. Very thoughtful no?

This one was converted to a magnet that could stick on the fridge of the people that this presidency serves for convenience in contacting them. I thought it was thoughtful of the president to think of the idea so I was happy to create something lovely to make it a reality.

My friend threw a surprise party for her Mom's 60th birthday. Isn't she a thoughtful daughter? We thought it would be nice to include a baby picture as well as a cute recent photo in the invite! I had to wait for the party to date to come and go before I could post the invite so as not to ruin the surprise!

This is another project that has been in the works for quite a while. This is a 4x2 ft vinyl banner that I created for a client "team" at National Instruments in Texas. They oversee the ability to search through their internal database for specific information so they are considered the DNA seekers, if you will. I am excited about how this design turned out because I think it is iconic and easy to remember after a glance plus it pull apart easily to have separate logos (ie: the magnifying glass or the small dna symbol in the corner). It is also one of the most "corporate" type projects that I have worked on and I really enjoyed the experience and hope to do more.

This is a project I have been working on for a while and this is only the cover. My client owns a great home entertainment business and we created presentation folders for it. They are being printed as I type so once they arrive I will take a photo of the hardcopy and make the big reveal of the final product.

This was a fun little project. These are party favor tags that were attached to small wood asian fans that were handed out to the guests at the reception. The bride and her mother actually attached them to fan tassels by punching a grommet through each square.

My old high school hommie turned college roomie turned one of wittiest people I know has written two young adult novels and got herself an agent (with a british accent no less!) and is basically on the verge of becoming the next big thing in the tween writing world. Anyhow, I'm always impressed with her and of her accomplishments, so when she asked me to design the banner for her writing blog I was flattered and thrilled. I love working with good friends because they tell me what the like or don't like when I design for them. Lindsey and I worked together on this one a lot. We wanted it tweeny and retro looking, girlie but not too girlie. I really liked how it came out and I know Lindsey did too. You can see it on her blog here and feel free to read some of her stuff cuz I guarantee you will like it! That's right, I said guarantee!

This poster is going to be in the display case at the elementary school that they named after my Dad, C. Owen Roundy! It is an 18x24 poster which I had printed and mounted on foam board (which is very reasonably priced at Kinkos).

We have another display case at the school that is all about my dad's life, talents and interests. I created these little place cards to fold in thirds (like a little tent) and set throughout the display explaining each item.

Another invite we created for a surprise shower we threw. This was an all girl event so I tried to create an invite that reflected that. I also really liked the way the two different fonts looks next to each other pulling the colors in from all of the surrounding flowers.

This is a CD cover I made. I have thought these would make a cool party favor for a wedding or a shower. You could burn the couple's or the bride's favorite tunes onto them and even add a picture of them for the cover.

You can click on the picture to enlarge it and see some detail. I think it is safe to say that this was one of my most challenging projects to date. There were a lot of circumstances that I needed to consider in this design. It is a program for a church event put on just for women highlighting the many talents of women. It was a really elegant ordeal and I wanted the program to reflect that. However, needing to print something like 400 copies on a limited budget required that these look really good but be in black and white. They were actually printed on an tan colored parchment paper which really added a lot to the final look. Plus there was A LOT of information that needed to be included onto this one page.

This card sort of started it all for me! I volunteered to create one for my friend Jacque who does alterations out of her home. And she was so kind as to tell everyone she handed a card to that I created them so she really drummed up some business for me! Thanks Jacque!

This is the first Christmas card we ever created and I have to admit it was A LOT of fun to send this out and hear the reactions. I'm not gonna lie, I need to give most credit to iphoto for this layout. But since then I have discovered an online printing company that will produce the same size and quality of card for about half the cost! So that is definitely what we are doing this Christmas. Want to join us? If so please let me know as soon in advance as possible so that I can design something great for you PLUS have time to get it printed and back to us!

My mom taught the sunbeam class (3 and 4 year olds) in her ward before she left for her mission. She asked me to create these for them. We laminated them so she was able to put stickers on or pull them off pretty easily. These were 11x17 inch posters which surprisingly are only about $2 to print in color at Kinkos! :)

I apologize that this image isn't bigger. You can click on it to see more detail. Our good friends asked me to design their wedding invitation. I was thrilled by the request. I worked really closely with the bride for this because she had a specific style in mind. Her colors were blue and yellow and her flowers were daisies. She knew she wanted something simple and sweet for their outdoor ceremony. I think we were both pleased with the results.

Here is a design that I particularly liked. My friend Hannah and her husband throw a mean easter party every year. She came up with this great idea for the invite...I just did the design, not the concept. We made it the same size as a standard envelope so it mailed easily (and cute!).
